Level 3 BTEC Foundation Diploma in Hair & Makeup Effects for Film & Theatre
This Foundation Diploma in Production Arts is an exciting new course which is the equivalent to 1.5 A Levels and is designed to be studied alongside the Foundation Diploma in Performing Arts or two other A Levels such as Film Studies, Media Studies or Photography.
Entry Requirements
Four GCSEs at grade 4 or above if combined with other another BTEC or five GCSEs at grade 4 or above if studying alongside two A Levels.
Frequently Asked Questions
During the course you will explore hair and media effects for a range of historical looks, characters and special effects and wounds, whilst also giving you the skills required for high-end fashion editorial. In addition, you will collaborate with our student photographers and filmmakers and work with the performing arts department to be part of live theatre productions at the Old Court Arts Centre.

In class, face to face.
Practical projects, supported by written work throughout the course. Students will study 4 units across the 2 years, gaining pass, merit or distinction for each one. The qualification is 100% internally assessed and externally moderated by the exam board
