T Level Fashion & Textiles

Are you a creative person looking to turn your enthusiasm for Fashion and textiles into a career?

The T-Level in Fashion and textiles (2 year course) is ideal for people with a creative eye, good attention to detail and an interest in the forever evolving fashion industry. You will spend 20% of your time in a work placement and 80% learning the industry hands on skills required in the classroom.

Our craft and design T-Level in Fashion and textiles is a 2-year qualification designed for 16–19-year-olds that will be equivalent to three A-Levels. T-Levels have been designed as an alternative to A-Levels and apprenticeships. They combine these elements which will allow you more opportunities and a direct pathway into employment, higher education, or a degree level apprenticeship.

The T level in Fashion and textiles here at Windsor will mix classroom learning and will run alongside a mandatory 45-day work placement. This should provide you with some practical experience with a real employer so that you can gain the knowledge and relevant skills so you can experience first-hand a working environment.

Entry Requirements

Five GCSE’s grades 4 and 5 and above, including maths (4) and English(4) and a 5 in a creative GCSE (Photography,media,art,textiles).

This programme is designed to provide students with a challenging and stimulating environment that encourages creativity and innovation, grounded in fundamental manual and technical skills within Fashion. Additionally, students will have the chance to hone their transferable skills, making them more versatile and employable individuals.Moreover, the T-Level in Fashion is designed to instill in students the importance of ethical and sustainable design principles, ensuring that they are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to create fashion products that are socially and environmentally responsible. As a result, graduates of this program are not only talented fashion designers but also conscious global citizens.Our T-Level in Fashion is an excellent option for students who are looking to pursue a career in the creative industries and arts. Through this qualification, students will develop a rich contextual knowledge of their specialist vocational area.

2 years

The qualification consists of 4 main areas:
Core curriculum – this is based in the classroom.
Creative industry – A live project brief is set
Occupational specialism – Workshop based skills where you will hone in on your chosen specialism/craft.
Industrial work placement – which in short is an extended work experience placement in a creative setting

You can receive grades such as a pass,merit,distinction or a distinction-. You will receive a nationally recognised certificate showing your overall grade and a breakdown of what you have achieved.

Tools, machines and equipment will be provided, and a tool kit is put together with the different skills and techniques that will be learnt on the course. You will be able to purchase your tools and equipment from the college for a fee at the start of your course.

The course is free to anyone 16-19. If you are 19 and would like to do the T-Level this will have a cost.
