Give Back Project 1
Strode’s and Windsor College students raise £650 for charity through creative fundraising.   Back in December, Level 2 learners from Strode’s and Windsor Colleges showcased their creativity, teamwork and entrepreneurial skills in an inspiring Give Back to the Community project.   Tasked with raising money for a charity of their choice, students worked to a live brief, developing fundraising initiatives that combined strategic planning with hands-on execution.   The project commenced with an insightful talk from an industry professional, followed by a dynamic team-building exercise that helped students strengthen their collaboration and problem-solving skills. With a small budget, that they needed to repay at the end of the project, teams brainstormed and executed a range of exciting fundraising activities.   Some of the excellent ideas included a limbo challenge, mocktail stalls, lucky dips, waffle making, a celebrity look alike competition, and the ever-popular bake sale. Each team also created a JustGiving page, designed marketing materials, and built engaging stalls to maximise participation and donations. Their hard work and dedication paid off, as the students collectively raised an impressive £650 for charity!   As part of their learning experience, students had to reflect on their personal and team development throughout the project. They assessed their strengths and areas for improvement before presenting their findings to a member of the Senior Leadership Team. The presentations were evaluated, and each team scored out of 30, with the winning team receiving a certificate and a voucher in recognition of their outstanding efforts.   The initiative not only contributed to a meaningful cause but also provided students with a valuable real-world experience. Emma Kadri-Langford, Head of Tutoring at Strode’s College, shared their thoughts on the impact of the initiative:   “Throughout the process, students not only developed their skills but also learned more about themselves. They gained valuable insights into their own strengths and weaknesses in a team setting. This self-awareness, paired with the ability to support one another, contributed to the success of the project.   The final presentation was a true testament to their hard work and collaboration. The students not only achieved their fundraising goals but also learned important lessons about perseverance, teamwork, and the power of giving back to the community.”   We are incredibly proud of the students for their dedication, creativity and passion for making a difference. Congratulations to everyone who took part!
